My heart is torn between East and West. I live somewhere between the present and the past. I don't know who I am.
Behind rails, Hoi An, Vietnam
“This was taken in beautiful Hoi An, Vietnam. It is one of the few places that wasn’t bombed during the Vietnam war so the buildings are beautifully preserved. This old man is painting small Buddhist statues behind the rails of a temple, from where he would be selling them later. The colours were the first thing that struck me, from the lurid green rails to the beautiful brown of his skin.”

Flying Nun, Shatrunjaya hill, Palitana jain temple Gujarat, India
“This is a photo of a ‘Flying Nun,’ a Jain nun who climbs 3950 steps to the 1250 Jain temples atop Shetrunjaya Hill every day before dawn. After praying there, these (sometimes elderly) nuns practically fly back down the hill to the Gujarat plains, leaping gazelle-like past all the sore-kneed pilgrims and tourists”
